How Can We Help
At Ballston Lake Emergency Medical Services (BLEMS), we are committed to providing high-quality emergency care while strengthening the community through education, outreach, and training. Our services go far beyond responding to 911 calls — they include proactive health initiatives, youth engagement programs, and continuous training for our team. Together, these services ensure that BLEMS remains a trusted partner in keeping our community safe, healthy, and prepared.
Emergency Medical Services
When emergencies happen, BLEMS is there. Our providers are trained and equipped to deliver advanced prehospital care to patients of all ages. Services include:
- 24/7 Emergency Response: Prompt, professional care for medical and traumatic emergencies.
- Basic & Advanced Life Support: Skilled EMTs and paramedics providing lifesaving interventions.
- Transport to Hospitals: Safe and efficient transport to area hospitals with continuity of care.
- Compassionate Patient Care: Treating every patient with dignity and respect in their time of need.
Our crews undergo continuous education to stay current with the latest medical protocols, ensuring that every call is answered with competence and compassion.
Community Outreach
BLEMS believes that strong emergency services begin with strong community connections. That’s why we take an active role in community outreach programs, including:
- Blood Pressure Clinics & “Vial of Life” Programs at local churches and community centers.
- Participation in Local Events such as Truck-or-Treat at the Commons and the Jonesville Fire Department Halloween Party.
- School Partnerships with Shenendehowa and Burnt Hills High Schools to encourage students 17+ to learn about EMS and volunteering.
These outreach efforts help raise awareness of emergency medicine, provide useful health resources, and encourage community members to get involved with BLEMS.
Training & Development
Training is the backbone of EMS excellence. BLEMS invests heavily in ongoing education for both current members and future volunteers. Our training services include:
- Monthly Drills: Regular, hands-on practice to maintain and sharpen essential EMS skills.
- Mentorship Programs: New volunteers are paired with Field Training Officers (FTOs) for guidance and support.
- Volunteer Trainee to Volunteer EMT Program: A structured pathway for individuals 17+ to train, ride along, and potentially attend EMT school sponsored by BLEMS.
- Continuing Education: Opportunities for members to pursue certifications and advanced skills in prehospital care.
By prioritizing training, BLEMS ensures our community has a reliable, knowledgeable, and highly skilled EMS team.
A Comprehensive Approach
The services at Ballston Lake EMS are built on three pillars: emergency medical response, community outreach, and continuous training. Together, these pillars create a system that not only saves lives in emergencies but also invests in the health, safety, and future of our community.
At BLEMS, we don’t just respond — we prepare, educate, and connect.
