Our Leadership
Our Leadership
Strong leadership has always been at the heart of Ballston Lake EMS (BLEMS). From our earliest days as a volunteer rescue squad in 1951 to the modern agency we are today, BLEMS has been guided by individuals who believe deeply in service, mentorship, and community.
Today, BLEMS is overseen by Executive Director Mike Siiss, who works alongside our Program Directors, Field Training Officers (FTOs), and Board of Directors to ensure the agency continues to grow and thrive. Leadership at BLEMS is not about titles — it’s about responsibility, accountability, and creating an environment where every member can succeed.
Our leaders are responsible for maintaining the high standards of patient care that the community expects, while also investing in the training and development of our members. From organizing monthly skills drills to supporting the Volunteer Trainee to Volunteer EMT Program, BLEMS leadership is actively involved in preparing the next generation of EMS providers.
Beyond clinical operations, leadership plays a vital role in community engagement. By coordinating outreach events, building partnerships with schools, and ensuring a visible presence at local gatherings, BLEMS leaders help bridge the gap between emergency services and the public we serve.
Most importantly, BLEMS leadership is approachable and hands-on. Whether riding alongside crews, mentoring new members, or representing the agency in the community, our leaders embody the same values that define BLEMS: compassion, professionalism, and dedication.
As we move forward, BLEMS leadership remains committed to our guiding principle: “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.” Through their vision and commitment, the agency will continue to grow, adapt, and serve with excellence.
