For Emergency Care Call 911

Community Outreach

Outreach Efforts

At Ballston Lake EMS (BLEMS), we believe that emergency services are about more than responding to 911 calls — they’re about being a visible, active, and trusted part of the community we serve. Our community outreach efforts are designed to connect with neighbors of all ages, promote health and safety, and inspire the next generation of EMS providers.

Each year, BLEMS participates in local events and traditions that bring our crews and residents together. From providing standby coverage at Burnt Hills–Ballston Lake football games to engaging with families at the Lord’s Acre Fair, our members are present not only to keep people safe, but also to answer questions, share resources, and build lasting relationships. These opportunities allow the public to see firsthand the dedication and professionalism of their EMS providers.

Outreach also extends to education and prevention. BLEMS offers blood pressure screenings, “Vial of Life” handouts, CPR instruction, and Narcan training to empower residents with lifesaving tools. By meeting people where they are — in schools, churches, and community spaces — we ensure that health and safety education is accessible to everyone.

We are especially proud of our partnership with Burnt Hills–Ballston Lake High School, where we work to introduce students 17 and older to EMS through classroom presentations and volunteer opportunities. By engaging young people early, BLEMS encourages youth to explore careers in healthcare and public safety while giving back to their community.

Our commitment to outreach reflects our core belief: stronger connections make for a stronger, safer community. Whether at a sporting event, school program, or health fair, BLEMS is proud to serve not just as emergency responders, but as neighbors, teachers, and advocates for community wellness.
