For Emergency Care Call 911

Providing EMS standby and firefighter rehab support.

On April 13th, at approximately 1328 hours, crews from Ballston Lake EMS were dispatched to assist the Burnt Hills Fire Department and multiple mutual aid agencies for a reported residential structure fire.

Upon arrival, fire command reported heavy fire involvement in the garage area of the residence with extension into the main living area and attic space. Due to the extent of fire spread and prolonged suppression operations, Ballston Lake EMS established EMS support operations for firefighters and personnel operating on scene.

Throughout the incident, EMS crews provided standby coverage, firefighter rehabilitation, medical monitoring, hydration support, and evaluation of personnel operating in high heat and physically demanding conditions. Crews remained prepared for rapid intervention should any firefighter injuries or civilian medical emergencies arise during operations.

The incident required a coordinated response involving numerous fire and support agencies from across the region. Fire suppression and overhaul operations continued for approximately three hours before the incident was brought under control.

Ballston Lake EMS would like to recognize the professionalism, teamwork, and dedication displayed by all responding agencies throughout this incident. Large-scale events such as this highlight the importance of regional cooperation, training, and interoperability between fire, EMS, and support personnel.
