*** Well this was an Awesome event, beautiful weather, good runners all for a Great Cause. Check out the Pics from the race! *** Sunday September 20th 2009 Who is Hannah? Five Year Old Hannah Sames, of Rexford NY was diagnosed with Giant Axonal Neuropathy (GAN) in March 2008. This is a rare genetic disorder that renders its victims quadriplegics, dependent on a feeding tube and ventilator before stealing life in the teens or twenties. The mission of Hannah's Hope Fund is to raise funding for research for a treatment and cure of GAN. In August 2008, Hannah's Hope Fund brought an international team of research scientists together for the first ever symposium on GAN. This panel prioritized gene therapy as the top therapeutic approach to be pursued to treat GAN. HHF then brought the top gene therapy scientists together in October 2008 to plan the GAN gene therapy project HHF is currently funding. We need sustained funding so this life-saving research can continue. Please let your legacy be curing a disease. Precious and innocent lives depend on us all. www.hannahshopefund.org Look for some of our Members in this Run to save a life. Also Look for our 'Hope Flag' during the event.
