Volunteers Wanted

Ballston Lake Emergency Squad is always accepting applications from prospective members who are at least 18 years of age. There is no experience necessary, only the desire to help.

The Squad responds to 1200 calls per year, and the crew most often consists of 2 or 3 people. An experienced Squad member will always be present with new members to help mentor them and answer questions at any time.

Most new Squad members are expected to enroll in a New York State Emergency Medical Technician class within their first year of membership, but we sometimes have a limited number of slots for people who only wish to drive. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class is approximately 120 hours long, and is currently offered at no charge to the participant. Any new member is expected to complete an American Heart Association CPR class and learn some basic first aid (both available through the Squad) prior to riding on the ambulance. Don't worry, senior Squad members are always available to assist you and work with you on your skills and knowledge.

Sounds interesting but not sure if you have the aptitude? Why not try a CPR class first, and take the first step towards getting onto the ambulance.

If this is something you would like to try then simply fill out the application and mail it back or drop it off to our station. If you have any other questions feel free to  at any time or use our Contact Page to get a hold of the Agency.

Thanks for your support!
